No item of clothing is more American than the blue jeans invented in 1873 by Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss. Actually, the fabric used to make jeans, called denim, was created in Genoa (maybe jean or jeane from Genoa) and is highly resistant, light fustian. It was present in the market since the Middle Ages, but its transformation into working trousers dates back to the 1800s, when it was used by longshoremen. It was only from 1850 that the term jeans was used to identify not the fabric but a model. In San Francisco, Levi Strauss, with his partner Jacob David Youphes, launched a model of resistant trousers with five pockets for the gold-diggers. After approximately a century, from the 1840s to 1900s, jeans became a trendy garment, first in the USA and then in Europe. In the late 1960s, during the outbreak of the hippy movement, they were the common denominator of rebellion. With the passing of time, jeans have changed models and their manufacturing techniques, following the temporary rules of designers' fantasy rather than political ideologies. The variety of clothes, made in denim fabric, include the well known jacket offered here, as well as the skirt that adopts the jeans pant details.

Men's patterns are difficult to find, and I took a chance on this one. It is a slim fit, and very well drafted. Those who want to try this should know just a few things -- it was a little tricky for me to figure out just how the pdf pattern should be assembled. There aren't clear markings, and the "dead space" around the edge of the pages make some of the assembly guess work. (If it had not been for this, I would have rated this 5 stars.) I only ran into issues when I didn't measure the pieces to confirm I had added seam allowances and confirmed fit before sewing. But that was just me being tired and lazy. Other than that, once it was all said and done, I found the resulting jacket to be just gorgeous.

très bon service et rapide à téléchargé dommage car le plus grand patron est trop petit pour moi
